Canada's largest 1950s-styled diner chain traces itself to a 1961 drive-in and a first full-service diner opened in 1988, growing to dozens of franchised locations across Ontario. Wimpy's belongs on this page for its record in the community: year after year it appears among the sponsors of the Macedonian Open golf tournament in support of Canadian Macedonian Place, keeping a promise the Macedonian diner trade has always made — the successful kitchen gives back.

The society lists Wimpy's as a community-affiliated business and would be glad to record the founding family's own story.
