Food & hospitality

PowerBev Inc.

Beverage distribution · Toronto · Greater Toronto Area

The beverage venture of Tom Bitove, a third-generation member of the family that built Toronto's great Macedonian catering empire. PowerBev has sponsored lunches and silver-tier packages at the Macedonian Open through the 2020s, and Tom, with his brother Jordan, donated Mother's Day luncheons to Canadian Macedonian Place's residents from their Montecito restaurant during the pandemic.

The Bitove name has stood for hospitality in Toronto since the Java Shoppe opened in the 1940s; PowerBev is that tradition in its current form.

A volunteer reads everything that arrives here. Nothing is published automatically, and a removal request is honoured without argument.

So a volunteer can write back if something needs asking. It is never shown on the website.

Still trading?

If you are not sure, say so — a volunteer will check. A guess is harder to correct than a blank.

An owner, a founder, a family story — whatever you know.

One web address per line. A newspaper piece, the business’s own site, a community newsletter — at least one.

Address, telephone, website, when it opened, who runs it — whatever you have.
