Lambo Anastasoff Tenekeff landed in 1907 from Gabresh, aged twelve, worked three years as a butcher, and opened his own grocery and meat market — becoming 'Mr. Louis' to a neighbourhood that could not pronounce Lambo. His 1921 marriage to Kiratza Zolumoff is preserved in this society's genealogy archive, which is precisely why his shop can stand here for the hundreds of Macedonian butcher shops and groceries whose names history did not keep.
