A Highland Creek coffee-and-doughnut shop that spent years as an advertiser in, and a pick-up point for, the community's Macedonia newspaper — the quiet signature of a Macedonian-run franchise. Doughnut shops and lunch counters have been a Macedonian trade in Toronto for over a century, and this corner of Old Kingston Road carried the tradition into the franchise era.
